SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones is calling on Texas Governor Greg Abbott to address a rising backlog in Medicaid applications.
In the Monday letter, Jones told Abbott to let her know how the mayor’s office could “be a resource as we serve our most vulnerable neighbors.”
Jones pointed to recent reporting saying more than 210,000 Texans were awaiting processing for Medicaid applications, a figure that had “skyrocketed” between January and August, according to The Dallas Morning News…
