LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Transit Authority of River City said ridership remains strong 50 days after launching its consolidated bus network, despite dozens of riders filing complaints about lost stops and longer commutes.
Bruce Withers, TARC’s director of transportation and chief operating officer, said the new network, which launched Aug. 2, has largely met the agency’s performance goals in the nearly eight weeks since rollout.
“What we’ve seen is consistent numbers,” Withers said. “One of the barometers we use is on-time performance. Our goal is 80%. We’re near or at that percent day-to-day. Ridership has been great. We haven’t seen much of a reduction, even though we did cut a few routes or service.”…
