OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego County environmental health officials have issued an advisory for some beaches and a river in North County due to high bacteria levels that may cause illness.
On Monday, the county Department of Environment Health and Quality (DEHQ) warned people about bacteria levels exceeding acceptable state health standards in the areas of Harbor Beach and Oceanside Pier in Oceanside as well as the San Luis Rey River outlet.
The river runs from the Palomar Mountain Range and Cleveland National Forest down to the Pacific Ocean in Oceanside.
Meanwhile, the county lifted a water contact closure for the end of Seacoast Drive and Cortez Avenue in Imperial Beach after recent water samples showed the bacteria levels have returned to safer health standards…
