Wilmington considering increasing fines for public consumption, blocking parking spaces

Wilmington City Council is considering separate ordinances that would increase fines for both drinking alcohol in public and saving parking spaces near houses.

Both bills are sponsored by City Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver, including the liquor bill, which would raise the minimum fine for public consumption from $100 to $150 in areas near schools, houses of worship, community centers, and liquor stores.
