LUBBOCK Texas — The South Plains Fair is almost here, and there are some things you need to know before you go.
Hours of Operation
- Admission: Admission is charged Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Free Lunch: On weekdays, it is free to join the South Plains Fair for lunchuntil 1 p.m.
- Food Stands: Most food stands open daily around 11 a.m., but some are here earlier for breakfast.
Daily Specials
- Thursday, September 24th from 6 p.m.- 11 p.m. – Buck-A-Ride Night All rides $1 a piece. There is no parking or admission fee.
- Sunday, September 27th: FamilyDay – Kids 17 and under admitted free before 9 p.m.
- Monday, September 28th – Veterans Day: Any veteran gets in the gate for $5.
- Tuesday, September 29th – Senior Citizen’s Day: Persons 60 years of age or older get in the gate for $5.
- $2 Tuesday – Each ride is $2 a piece
- Thursday, October 1st – College Night: Present your current college ID and get in the gate for $5.
- Thursday, October 1st is also WristbandDay: $40 Wristband to ride unlimited rides from 3 p.m.-11 p.m.
Clear Bag Policy
- The fair does have a clear bag policy. All clear bags are subject to search. Bags must be clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC. Cannot exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. Small clutch bags can be taken inside.
- Prohibitedbags include:
- Purses larger than a clutch, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, computer bags, camera bags and binocular cases.
Dogs on Fairgrounds:
- Are dogs permittedon the fairgrounds? No, dogs will not be permitted on the fairgrounds during the fair, except those registered as service animals.
Tickets:
Tickets are as follows:
- 13 years and up $10
- 2-12 years $5
- 1 and under no charge
- Parking $5
- Tickets are non-refundable.
Mega Pass:
- What is the Mega Pass? The Mega Pass is apay-one price picture ID that is valid for a wristband for unlimited rides each day of the fair, including preview night. It does not include admission fees. The last day to purchase one is Saturday, September 13th.
- A Mega Pass costs $75, and the last day to purchase one is the last Saturday before the Fair starts. They are not available after that date.
Building Hours:
- Commercial buildings are open daily from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- The children’s barnyard is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
