SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Family Justice Center was honored Saturday evening with the San Antonio Bar Foundation Peacemaker Award during the San Antonio Bar Association’s Annual Gala, recognizing the center’s work supporting domestic violence survivors and promoting nonviolent resolutions to community conflicts.
The award recognizes individuals and organizations that effectively promote nonviolent resolutions to community conflicts, a mission the Family Justice Center carries out through services for survivors of domestic violence and related abuse.
Under the direction of the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, the Bexar County Family Justice Center provides support including food, formula, hygiene items, transportation, civil protective order assistance and counseling, offering those resources “all in one safe and welcoming location,” according to a press release from the office of Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe D.
