On bike rides around Albany, I see lots and lots of cats. Most are just sitting around, often under cars, like the one above.
What I don’t know is whether the cats I see belong to somebody who takes care of them. Or are they strays who depend on their innate skills as felines for survival in the wild?
For a while in 2003 and ’04, Albany city officials debated what might be done to deal with an increasing number of cats running around and causing problems. That included cats whose owners let them outside, and an increasing number of the feral kind…
