Simone Biles recently shared a surprising update with her fans on social media: her Porsche was stolen from her Chicago-area home. While the luxury vehicle was eventually recovered, the Olympic gymnast made it clear she’s ready to move on from the experience.
Biles revealed the news in true TikTok fashion-while applying makeup. “I feel like I need a new car because during our last few months in Chicago, three men in masks came to our house and stole our Porsche.
Stole the GTS,” she explained. Although she didn’t specify the exact model, the GTS is known as a high-performance trim, far from your everyday family SUV.
Fortunately, Biles and her husband, Indianapolis Colts safety Jonathan Owens, got the car back. However, there’s no denying the uncomfortable feeling of driving a car that’s been in the hands of thieves. Plus, the incident will likely impact the car’s resale value, even if it’s still a hot item for buyers.
While some may see it as a luxury problem, Biles’ hesitation is understandable. After all, having your prized ride stolen is no small matter. The couple’s recent brush with crime isn’t isolated either-earlier this year in Milan, Owens shared that someone tried to snatch a shopping bag right out of his hand.
