Nozell terminated Seaver’s role in managing security on September 15, with a formal notice sent the following day. The notice clarified that while Seaver’s security services were ended immediately, his personal interest in the DP Dean Trust-which manages Parton’s properties and professional interests-remained unaffected.
Seaver’s team expressed disappointment over the sudden actions, describing them as “unexpected and, so far, unexplained.” They emphasized their commitment to honoring Parton’s legacy and protecting her family, rejecting what they see as intimidation efforts driven by bad faith and personal gain.
Bryan Seaver, son of Dolly Parton’s sister Cassie Parton, had been considered a trusted family member and was the one who publicly announced Dolly’s death on August 25, sharing that she had “lived in the light” and was now “in the arms of Jesus.”
