XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Even though the rain has let up for a moment, many people in Greene County are left picking up the pieces after Sunday night’s storms, including one Xenia woman and her daughter, who are now homeless after floodwaters left her house structurally unsafe.
On Sunday night, the water rose all the way above a nearby bridge, then crashed into their home, flooding the entire basement.
Tonya McCown works the night shift and leaves her adult son, Daniel, to stay the night to watch his 16-year-old sister who has Down Syndrome. During Sunday night, Daniel called her about the water flooding their home.
