GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A Christian youth ministry is escalating its fight over a teen clubhouse after a Northern Michigan tourist town denied it a permit to operate where only businesses are allowed.
A motion filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan last week asked a judge to issue a preliminary injunction that would allow Youth for Christ to meet in downtown Leland while a lawsuit over the issue is being decided.
If granted, a court order would let the ministry “assemble for speech, Bible study prayer and fellowship at private property in Leland Township.”…
