ANTWERP TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A homemade explosive was thrown at a vehicle parked in a driveway near Paw Paw on Monday, which resulted in an evacuation and temporary road closure of the surrounding areas.
Deputies with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said in a Tuesday release that they received a call on Monday from someone who reported seeing a bomb being thrown at a vehicle in a driveway near the 31000 block of Red Arrow Highway.
When deputies arrived, they found a bottle wrapped in duct tape with a fuse running outside of it near the vehicle in a driveway.
The device resembled something similar to a Molotov cocktail and also contained an accelerant liquid believed to potentially be gasoline, deputies said. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Bomb Squad was called in to safely remove the object from the area…
