September 9, 2026, saw the Lakeland Police respond to a single-vehicle car crash on Highway 33 near North Combee Road. According to reports, the vehicle had gone through a road-closure sign and sandbags. This resulted in the car entering a construction area before coming to rest against some exposed tree roots. Police reports state that the damage appeared consistent with a rollover.
Naturally, this informed the authorities, who arrived as soon as they could. However, the driver was apparently gone. Not to mention, there were reportedly two child safety seats inside the wrecked vehicles, prompting the police to start searching the area. However, it was tough to do that since the area was completely dark.
To bypass this issue, the police decided to deploy a drone. It took about half an hour, but the drone was able to locate 27-year-old Isaac Kinsey in what could only be described as a swampy area. He was also carrying a 2-year-old child and a 10-month-old infant in his arms, carrying the poor children around while hiding in such an unsafe environment.
This wasn’t even the worst part. According to footage recorded by the drone, Kinsey was seen falling in the swampy areas multiple times. This naturally resulted in the two children suffering from injuries that could have been avoided if he had just waited for the authorities to show up. Not to mention, Kinsey’s license was apparently expired as well, and he showed signs of impairment and intoxication.
Kinsey Now Faces Eleven Charges
While Kinsey was instantly arrested, the two children accompanying him were taken to Lakeland Regional Health and treated for injuries. The injuries were sustained through a combination of the car crash and Kinsey trying to navigate the treacherous swamp…
