BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The interview phase of an investigation into a Baton Rouge bishop’s handling of a sexual misconduct accusation against a priest has wrapped up and was sent to the Vatican’s Dicastery for Bishops, according to the National Catholic Register.
The Catholic newspaper reports that Luke Zumo filed a complaint against Bishop Michael Duca on Feb. 19 over Duca’s handling of a complaint related to an alleged sexual misconduct incident involving a former pastor of St. Isidore the Farmer in Baker.
The Register reported, citing Zumo, that New Orleans Archbishop James Checchio received a letter from the Vatican on May 4 authorizing the investigation into Duca.
