Fogo de Chão, a chain of upscale Brazilian steakhouses, appears to be planning to open a restaurant at Village Pointe Shopping Center, according to a pending building permit filed with the City of Omaha on September 18. The address listed is 295 North 170th Street, which is the former Kona Grill building immediately south of the recently opened KPOT Koran BBQ & Hot Pot.
Additionally, RED Development, which is involved in the shopping center’s leasing efforts, has published leasing information on its website identifying Fogo de Chão as the occupant of the 7,800 sq. ft. former Kona building. Village Pointe is owned by Federal Realty of North Bethesda, Md. Fogo de Chão does not currently list an Omaha location on its “coming soon” list.
