‘Simpsons’ writer Bill Oakley and chef Mason Hereford throw Curiosity Dinner at Turkey and the Wolf

Hardcore fans of “The Simpsons” may know Bill Oakley from his days writing for and showrunning the sitcom. He co-wrote memorable episodes like “Who Shot Mr. Burns?” and “Bart vs Australia” and won three Primetime Emmy Awards and other honors.

He’s also written for “Futurama,” “Portlandia” and other shows. But in the past few years, he’s launched a second career as a food explorer and curator. He’s found his niche looking for unique local dishes that can’t be found anywhere else, and now he shares them in Curiosity Dinners across the country.

This week, he’s in New Orleans to co-host a couple of dinners with chef Mason Hereford of Turkey and the Wolf. The menu includes seven dishes from elsewhere, interpreted by Herefod and introduced by Oakley, and he’ll also share stories from “The Simpsons.”…
