ST. LOUIS – A downtown St. Louis carjacking that began with a smashed window and ended with gunfire at an Illinois State Police trooper has led to guilty pleas from three Metro East men in federal court.
Davon McLorn, 32, of Madison County, Illinois, pleaded guilty Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. Abduelah Jones, 28, of East St. Louis, and Kasey Richardson, 30, of Belleville, previously pleaded guilty in the Jan. 27, 2024, carjacking near Convention Plaza and North Seventh Street. A sentencing memorandum filed in Jones’ case says the men planned to take the stolen vehicle to a “chop shop” to be sold for parts.
According to plea agreements, the three approached a man who was sitting in his parked 2013 Nissan Sentra. McLorn smashed the driver’s side window and forcibly removed the victim from the car. McLorn, who was holding a pistol, then robbed the victim of his wallet and cellphone and stole the car…
