BOISE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Gem State drivers started the morning with quite a surprise; the state’s average gas price jumped 10 cents overnight to $4.96 per gallon.
Boise had average prices that were 17 cents higher than yesterday with Idaho Falls and Pocatello tying at a 16 cent increase. Idaho’s average is 14 cents more than a week ago, 47 cents more than a month ago and $1.44 more than a year ago. Boise, Idaho Falls, Pocatello and Twin Falls counties are above the $5 mark.
“The causes are the same, but the symptoms are more severe — global conflict putting pressure on crude oil affects the price of everything you can make by refining the crude,” said AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde. “These price jumps are simply shocking.”…
