Six Duke faculty members will spend the next seven months building leadership skills meant to help them navigate today’s higher education climate.
The professors have been selected as 2026-27 Ivy+ Leadership fellows at the Institute for Faculty Leadership. Over the course of the program, they will discuss the opportunities and challenges facing academia with faculty from the University of Chicago, Johns Hopkins University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the eight Ivy League universities.
The summit may prove especially useful this year, as higher education writ large has had to contend with pressure from the federal government, including investigations, cuts to research funding and scrutiny over diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, which some leaders have seen as an overstep of the federal government’s powers…
