Henderson jailer pushes reentry program

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Henderson County’s jailer wants to give inmates more than a release date. He wants them to have a plan for what comes next.

Jailer Anthony Willett says he’s working to bring employers, education, job training and family support programs into the jail.

The goal is to start preparing people for release while they are still behind bars. That could include everything from math classes and forklift training to connecting inmates with employers before they leave jail…
