Data centers drawing 25 megawatts or more of electricity are no longer allowed on Allegheny County-owned property.
County Council voted unanimously Tuesday to prohibit the construction, operation or establishment of large-scale data centers — and the infrastructure built specifically to support them — on county-owned land and in county-owned buildings.
