RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Lesly Soto, a Mexican curandera living and working in Richmond, calls back to her ancestors not only during Hispanic Heritage Month, but while providing healing services year-round.
She provides tarot readings, reiki sessions, and traditional Mexican limpia to all people regardless of their beliefs.
Soto, whose family immigrated from Mexico when she was a child, says she founded “Les is More Healing Studio” on the belief that healing can be simple and “fancy” tools aren’t needed.
“We have this thing that’s like, ‘ni de aquí, ni de alla,’ meaning you don’t really belong here, but you don’t really belong there,” Soto said, “This was really a way for me to reclaim my identity as a Mexican American.”
