During the University of Oregon Academic and Student Affairs Committee meeting on Sept. 21, administrators in the office of the provost discussed UO’s lagging retention rates and harnessing alumni connections for career guidance.
“(Administrators) need to tackle, head-on, the sobering fact that we lose almost one-quarter of our undergraduate students after their second year here, which tells us that we’re not providing the distinctive experiences or the sense of belonging that we, and our students, expect,” Provost Christopher Long said.
