TOWN OF NIAGARA, N.Y. (WIVB) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has authorized at least $4 million in task orders for work related to properties contaminated with radioactive waste in Niagara and Erie counties.
The task orders obtained by News 4 Investigates provide a glimpse into the amount of money the EPA has spent on the Niagara and Erie County Radiological Assessment, or NECRA, initiative. The costs are likely to grow through the remainder of the year as crews pivot to property cleanups.
