CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Drivers should plan for major road restrictions across downtown Chattanooga, Highway 27 and parts of Red Bank, Hamilton County and Soddy Daisy this weekend as IRONMAN Chattanooga returns Sunday, Sept. 27.
The Chattanooga Division of Transportation says the race will begin with the swim portion at 7:30 a.m. Athletes are expected to transition to the bike course from about 8:10 a.m. until 1 p.m., followed by the running portion through early Monday morning.
Several downtown streets are already closed for setup and will remain closed until 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. Those include Riverside Drive and Riverfront Parkway between Aquarium Way and Molly Street, Chestnut Street between Aquarium Way and Riverfront Parkway, Power Alley to Riverfront Parkway and the southbound Veterans Bridge ramp to Riverside Drive…
