After serving Sacramento for almost two decades, a favorite Mexican restaurant is closing in midtown’s Lavender Heights district.
Azul Mexican Food & Tequila Bar announced on Instagram that it will close permanently after Saturday, Sept. 26. The restaurant has served modern, contemporary Mexican food at 1050 20th St. since 2007.
Azul is owned and run by Carlos and Jose Ulloa The brothers did not respond to a request for comment from The Sacramento Bee, but told The Sacramento Business Journal the closure was prompted by business slowing over the years and “high food costs.”…
