AUSTIN (KXAN) — Although KXAN Investigators were able to catch a ride in a Cybercab Wednesday using the Robotaxi app, the state license Tesla needs to operate the ride share service in our state expired in August, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
After KXAN investigators received a viewer tip, we learned Tesla’s Transportation Network Company (TNC) license for its Robotaxi service expired last month. TNCs are companies that connect riders and drivers online, usually through an app, like Uber, Lyft and Robotaxi.
