Clouds have been spreading East and scattered showers are lining up over our western counties. This is the start of an unsettled stretch that will last into the weekend. Some rainfall into tonight could be locally heavy to the southwest.
Texas County, Oklahoma, is currently under a Flood Watch through Friday morning.
With the general heating of the day, heavier downpours will track across Western Kansas through Wednesday evening.
As more energy keeps flowing freely into the Central Plains, the rain train will keep chugging east from Western into Central Kansas on Thursday.
The highest concentration of rain and storms will be north and west of Wichita until Thursday night.
Off and on rain and storms will continue into Friday. Lightning could be an issue for a few Friday Football games with locally heavy rainfall as scattered development lingers.
This should head for the exit Saturday toward the east. We will need to watch for any new development that could be stronger Saturday afternoon.
Rainfall potential through Saturday morning could exceed 2″ in isolated areas.
Highs will range from the 60s to the 80s tomorrow. Warmest temperatures will be near the Oklahoma state line. More clouds and rain will keep temperatures lower farther north and west.
The chances of a severe storm are low but a stronger storm to the southwest cannot be ruled out Thursday and again Friday if enough instability can be realized.
With rain clearing from west to east this weekend, temperatures will spike in the 80s. Some lower 90s will show up to the party on Sunday near the Oklahoma state line, including the Wichita Metro. More rain heads for the region Monday into Tuesday. The rest of next week looks dry and seasonal.
