Murray’s planning division is asking the City Council to adopt a development vision for the 245 acres around Murray Central Station, an area long kept largely vacant due in part to its designation as a superfund site.
The plan envisions bringing life to the site around the area where FrontRunner, Trax, the Mid-Valley Express bus line and a regional bus loop all converge next to Intermountain Medical Center. The area runs roughly from 4800 South to 5300 South between State Street and I-15.
The plan exists because of HB 462, the 2022 law requiring cities with commuter and light rail stations to adopt plans covering the half-mile around them.
