ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Remnants of former-Typhoon Dujuan are merging with a Bering low that is expected to track near the Aleutians and Southwest Alaska as early as Wednesday night and continue to bring impacts through Thursday and Friday. But for the meantime, fairly quiet weather across much of the state is keeping temperatures cool and mostly dry before impacts from this storm expand.

In Southwest Alaska and the Aleutian Chain, that’s where we’re tracking strong winds and anticipated rainfall. A High Wind Warning is in effect in Shemya, Attu, Adak, and Atka with gusts up to 75–80 mph. This warning will be in effect at 10 p.m. tonight as winds will build through the day. Showers should be expected across the Aleutian Chain today and throughout Tuesday as this storm moves in. Southwest Alaska and the majority of the Western Coastline will stay cloudy and dry through the day today. Temperatures will sit in the 40s for the Western Region with sunny skies in Bristol Bay before rain takes over Thursday.
