FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno’s very own cat cafe is getting ready to open, something those behind the ambitious business hope will get even more of the city’s cats adopted into new homes.
Mike Hsiao, the self-proclaimed “Head Cheese” at the “Cat Touch This Cat Cafe,” says the cafe has two goals in mind.

“One is to find cats homes and such, and the next is to help out human beings,” Hsiao said.
Ruben Cantu with the Valley Animal Center says he’s excited for the cafe to open soon, but in the meantime, it is already prompting an important conversation.
“Not only will the cats that are residing in the Cat Cafe, you know, be there to be a part of the community. They’re available for adoption. They’re going to be available cats that can potentially go home with,” Cantu said.
