WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Three people have been charged in connection to the deadly shooting of a 14-year-old outside a Wilmington Dollar General earlier this month.
According to District Attorney Jason Smith, police arrested Dorian Maurice McNeil, 24, and Sencere Maurice Ortiz, 22, on first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon charges. Smith said a third person, Alexis Johnson, was charged with felony accessory after the fact.
Warrants allege McNeil and Ortiz shot 14-year-old Jaysir Kamar Price with a 9mm handgun and stole the teenager’s iPhone on Sept. 8 near South Fifth Avenue and Dawson Street.
According to Smith, McNeil was arrested Monday, Sept. 21 and Ortiz was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 23. Both are being held without bond…
