JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – “The Big Fix” has begun. Drivers traveling on Interstate 20 in Jackson will see overnight alternating lane closures beginning Wednesday as crews prepare for upcoming bridge work.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation said the closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night from Wednesday, Sept. 23, through Friday, Sept. 25.
Where drivers can expect closures
Alternating lane closures will affect both directions of I-20 at the following locations:
- I-20 at Gallatin Street
- I-20 over Lynch Street
- I-20 over Wiggins Road
MDOT said crews will place temporary striping ahead of lane shifts associated with upcoming bridge work included in the I-20/I-55 Freight Corridors Improvement Project, also known as “The Big Fix.”
