Goodyear Civic Square is adding some recognizable names — Nordstrom Rack, Fogo de Chão, Postino and more than a dozen others — as the city works to build a dining and retail hub for the West Valley.
For Goodyear Senior Business Development Manager Joseph Stewart, each new addition represents a step closer to the bustling downtown area the city council has worked to deliver for many years.
“We’ve never really had a downtown before, so we’ve started creating that right around Goodyear Civic Square — with City Hall, the library, the restaurants, retail, the office building and the hotel that’s going to be coming,” Stewart said. “I think the goal of the expansion of GSQ, at least on the east side, is that we’re really trying to create a retail, restaurant and entertainment destination in the Southwest Valley…
