RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A Reno woman is facing charges after the DOJ says she stole Social Security payments.
The DOJ says the Social Security Administration continued to deposit retirement benefits into the bank account of Sherry Kim Picetti’s deceased uncle, whose death the government was unaware of.
They say that, in total, more than $102,000 in benefits were deposited after his death. They say that from August 2021 to March 2023, Picetti converted at least $15,000 of those funds for her own use…
