CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The 42nd annual MOJA Arts Festival begins Thursday, kicking off eight days of events celebrating Black arts, culture, and heritage throughout Charleston.
The festival, which runs Sept. 24 through Oct. 1, features music, visual arts, dance, theater, poetry, storytelling, food, family activities and educational programs highlighting the contributions of the African diaspora and African American and Caribbean cultures.
Festivities begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, with an opening celebration at Marion Square featuring food trucks, a drumline battle, and performances by Burke, Timberland, and Woodland high schools…
