If you happened to hear or see a low-flying helicopter near Presque Isle State Park, it wasn’t for an emergency.
A helicopter was applying herbicide across Presque Isle State Park by air and in order to do so, it has to do flyovers pretty close to the ground.

Mainly, they do this to take care of pesky invasive plants in areas that couldn’t be reached by land or boat.
Park officials also closed portions of the park to allow for the spraying to take place.
