Once-flourishing vegan eateries are going to seed.
Between 2020 and 2024, Yelp reported, an average of 47 new vegan eateries sprouted each year in the New York metro. In the last year, there were only 14. In California, vegetarian fast-food chain Amy’s announced its last restaurant was closing.
