SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Traffic was backed up on Interstate 15 north Thursday morning after a driver in a stolen vehicle led police on a pursuit that ended in a crash near Mira Mesa Blvd.
Several police vehicles were blocking off all lanes of the highway around noon Thursday following a stolen vehicle pursuit that started near the 6900 block of Linda Vista Road and went through several streets and onto the highway, San Diego Police confirmed.
The driver was in a vehicle that triggered a license plate reader as stolen, police said. The pursuit ended in a collision at Mira Mesa Blvd and I-15 north and the driver ran from the scene before police caught up with them and took them into custody near Carroll Canyon about 10 minutes later.
