Lubbock ISD trustee John Weddige has resigned from the district’s Board of Trustees, creating a vacancy in District 5 and leaving the remaining board members to determine how his seat will be filled.
Weddige represented District 5, which covers portions of west and northwest Lubbock.
His departure comes during a consequential period for Lubbock ISD as trustees continue dealing with enrollment changes, district finances, aging facilities and decisions surrounding the future use and consolidation of school campuses…
