ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – In the Northwest Arctic village of Noatak, daily life runs on four-wheelers, river boats, and snowmachines. Because the village cannot receive river barges, every drop of gasoline and stove oil must be flown in by cargo plane.
This summer, residents were hit with a sudden price hike that brought routine travel to a near standstill.
