CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — For nearly five days inside the Montgomery County Jail, Darius Chappell repeatedly pleaded for help, according to five inmates who were in the same cell block, and his mother, before he died. Chappell had been arrested after being tased multiple times and attacked by a Clarksville Police K-9, days before.
The inmates and Chappell’s mother, Latoshia Phinnessee, told FOX 17 that Chappell repeatedly told corrections officers he needed medical help, could not feel parts of his body, and was yelling that he was dying.
“He was just saying how much he was in pain. And he kept saying that he felt like his stomach was burning, like he had a real burning,” inmate David Singleton said…
