Fast-growing Texas town is getting a major road overhaul. Here’s when.

One of the country’s fastest-growing regions is preparing residents for major roadway improvement construction after securing $15 million in funding.

Earlier this week, Hays County received $15,237,235 in Surface Transportation Block Grants from the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) for three road projects along FM 2001. These three awards, selected on June 8, will support work totaling to approximately $24.5 million.

The funding will cover final design improvements being developed with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and fund construction on a part of the Precinct 1 corridor. These projects are designed to improve safety and mobility on several Hays County roadways…
