Sixteen tax-delinquent lots are heading to public sale across Baton Rouge, with opening bids as low as $100—but buyers will also inherit years of unpaid taxes reaching as high as $19,358 on one parcel, plus hundreds of dollars in required upfront fees.
According to the Metro Council’s agenda, properties span neighborhoods including Woodaire, Brookstown Place, Istrouma, University Place, and South Baton Rouge. Bids are due October 21, with a public hearing set for October 28.
Beyond the opening bid, every buyer must pay advanced costs in certified funds—ranging from $200 to $650 depending on the parcel—and take on whatever back taxes are owed.
