When you take into account our entire area, there is not as much rainfall this morning compared to yesterday morning. However, some showers and storms will still be around to start the day. Some of the heaviest rainfall has been impacting Central Kansas.
Similar to yesterday, if it happens to be dry where you are this morning, you will still want to be prepared to be impacted by more wet weather. There will be a constant stream of moisture into the Sunflower State through the day. This means scattered showers and storms will stick around through much of our Friday.
Due to the continued rainfall and cloud cover, this will aid in keeping most high temperatures at least slightly below the norm. The majority of the area will not make it out of the 70s but a couple of spots farther south and southeast could reach the lower 80s.
After sundown we will start to see a few more breaks in the rain again. Not as much rain is expected during the night in Western Kansas and this will eventually lead to drier conditions settling into the western half of the area by Saturday.
There will still be a few showers and storms around areas between Central and Eastern Kansas Saturday. Late in the day and by the evening there is a chance for some stronger storms to develop and isolated severe storms will be possible.
Rain chances for the eastern half of the area will begin to drop off through Saturday night. Everyone will be drier and warm to wrap up the weekend. As we get into the new work and school week there will be another system that begins to swing through the region and it will bring more showers to the area next week.
