ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – After decades of sharing pieces of Albuquerque and New Mexico with tens of thousands of people, a longstanding Old Town fixture will soon call it quits.

Albuquerque’s Old Town Emporium has shared a piece of New Mexico’s unique culture for decades to locals and visitors from around the world. “I think New Mexico has the best of all the infusions of cultures. The food is the best, in, I think, the whole world,” said Old Town Emporium Owner Jody Henderson.
Henderson and her family took over the souvenir store in 2003, but after running the shop for 23 years, she said she’s ready to move on as she’s looking to retire and slow down. Now, she’s looking back on the memories she holds from owning the Old Town staple “I have so many memories. Especially of Holiday Stroll, and Christmas Eve. We would be here until midnight. The same people would come year after year, and it just felt like home.”…
