W. Ann Rd. & N. Hualapai Way — Approximate Site of Disputed Zoning
A roughly 20-acre stretch of land near W. Ann Road and N. Hualapai Way sits at the center of a dispute that could cost a major homebuilder millions of dollars, after the City of Las Vegas is accused of mislabeling the parcel’s zoning in 2018. Pulte Homes representative Tony Celeste told city planning commissioners the publicly available map showed the site as residential development, saying, “this is not a misprint.” The stakes: whether the site can hold 56 homes or about 40 under the intended zoning.
Celeste laid out the timeline during a Sept. 8 planning commission hearing, according to KLAS 8 News Now. The site was annexed into the city in 2015 as part of a larger request and designated for residential estates, per that reporting.
