After a calm and mild middle of September, a cold front is ushering in a day of active weather on Friday. The front itself will bring a band of brief but widespread showers across the region throughout the morning.
Behind the front, the atmosphere destabilizes opening the door for thunderstorms. The strongest chances of storms will be north near the Canadian Border with weaker chances trickling south all the way toward Spokane.
