Comedian Scott Thompson, 61, was hospitalized following a suspected overdose on September 18, according to a police report obtained by TMZ. The incident occurred shortly after Thompson, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, was informed by his manager that a story alleging sexual misconduct was about to be published. These allegations, related to an ongoing legal dispute, have not been proven.
Police received a call around 4:20 p.m. about an unresponsive man at Thompson’s home. Officers arrived promptly to find him unconscious but breathing near his backyard pool.
Prior to this, Thompson’s manager had informed him about the impending story. Thompson reportedly responded with “My show is over,” then sent a one-word text: “Done.”
Concerned, the manager immediately requested a welfare check from authorities.
Thompson remains hospitalized but is now breathing independently and in contact with family, according to his longtime representative, Jami Schlicher. She expressed gratitude for the public’s concern while asking for privacy during this difficult time. His scheduled shows at the Atrium Showroom for Friday and Saturday have been canceled, with no return date announced.
This episode follows a challenging period for Thompson, who has been involved in a legal battle since August. Singer Brian Evans filed a lawsuit accusing Thompson of sending an unsolicited explicit video.
Thompson’s attorney has alleged an extortion attempt related to the same footage, though a Florida police investigation resulted in no charges. Thompson has been a staple at the Atrium Showroom since 2005, holding the record as the longest-running solo act on the Las Vegas Strip.
