A 5-year-old was airlifted in critical but stable condition Thursday afternoon after a reported hit-and-run at Wilkins and Tyree Toliver streets in east Bakersfield.
A Bakersfield Police Department spokeswoman said by email Friday a mother and her children were driving west on Wilkins just after 2 p.m., preparing to turn south on Tyree Toliver, when a southbound truck ran a stop sign and broadsided them on the passenger side.
